You're cleaning the shady basement of your newly bought home and you come across an old notebook. Curiosity gets to you and you decide to read.

Perhaps you shouldn't have done that.

Did this game as a way to mess around with CSS and HTML to better understand both, as well as being inspired by a spooky greentext story. It was frustrating and extremely fun to do this. Enjoy it!

Hi cutenewt, it's always interesting to read your pieces and this one is no exception. Succinct, with well-used effects and clean UI. Congrats! Talking about sensitive topics is tough.

If I had to give any feedback, The representation of the conflict and pain of the child using a character was great. Although I did understand was going on, perhaps a dialogue between said character and child would help. It could show how much suffering the child was going through, and its inevitable trauma.

Hey, akhmin!

Thank you so much for your feedback, I'm going to be smiling all day today because of that! Really glad you enjoy my pieces, I'm very honoured you took the time to play them and to leave a comment! Thank you ^^

I'm a bit confused on which character you'd like the child to have a dialogue with? If you mean you, the player, as character, sadly the events from the diary happened well before the player moves into the house, so that wouldn't be possible. If you happen to mean 'Jack', I do agree that I could've elaborated a lot more on the inner turmoil and shown it through more dialogue and more journal entries. Perhaps I will update it soon and turn it into a more complex reflection of a child's psychology once I'm done with exams. Real life gets in the way of creativity too often.

I'll keep it in mind. I'm grateful for your comment, it gave me a push towards creating more :)

Yes, I meant Jack!
